    Micron Exhaust Technologies ceases trading

    11/07/08

MICRON the well-known exhaust manufacturer has ceased trading as of 10am yesterday (Thursday 10th July).
The Micron team of over 20 staff - of which some have been working for the company for 20 eyars - have been laid off with as yet no offer of pay.

It is thought that Micron's parent company will concentrate on the automotive side of the business, which accounts for around 85% of its turnover, making exhausts for car brands such as Aston Martin.

I've been wanting a Micron high mount and have been putting money aside for one. I guess I need to consider either buying quick, or a different brand......

Okay, talked with the wife and decided to "borrow" from savings so I can nab a Micron high mount before they are gone. After hearing one in person, it's what I want.

I am going to go with either the Chrome/Stainless, the Polished, or the Titanium. I like the look of carbon fiber but have decided to stay a little more traditional with a metal look.

The polished (I assume it's aluminum) is $50 cheaper than the other two but I am not sure of any downside to the polished model. Does anyone have some quick input so that I can decide by morning and order one?

    Thanks!

My TBR can had aluminium end caps & they started corroding in less than one year from purchase. Because of this, you couldn't pay me to put an aluminium exhaust on a motorcycle. Go for the SS or titanium. The titanium will last longer than the bike will.

    Help!

Pipecity.com cannot get the Micron high mount anymore (someone called me and was VERY professinal about it, so I do recommend them!). I emailed excoticsportbike.com and have not heard back (thumbs down to them) so I'm guessing that they can't help me either.

Does anyone have thoughts on who may still have Micron high mounts available?

If I can't get a hold of one I figure I will hold off and pick up a Staintune when finances allow. It's just not fair.....

Just called them - all they have left are the round cannisters and I honestly really wanted oval if I was going to go with Micron.

Thanks for the phone number though.... I really had my fingers crossed!
