Nothing anyone could say could detract from the macho image of scooter folk.

It's all about horses for courses. One of the best gifts of retirement is that I don't have to hurry. The scooters are great for just cruising along enjoying the scenery. I took the 250cc Helix on a couple of 800-900 mile 3 day tours last summer and loved it. You see a lot more when you're doing 55-60 than 80+. (ETA plus I'll come clean, I love parking my little $1k Helix next to the huge touring bikes and going "Hmm, 1/15th the cost of that one, oh 1/30th of that luxo-barge Goldwing". I admit that I'm a bit shallow in that dept.) The little S40 is the same, just thumpin' along. It helps that with the exception of a couple of major tourist routes there is very little traffic in MT and lots of nice deserted back roads.

What I noticed earlier this summer is that, while my need for speed is less than when I was younger, it ain't gone by a long shot. Hence the VFR. Only about 500 miles so far but I'm loving it!

A Yellowstone meetup would be fun. May I suggest September as the time. It's almost not worth it June-August as the traffic congestion is horrendous.

If there was a meet-up in Yellowstone, I might be inclined to make the cross country trip. But I'm packing my fly rod and waders.

@ Badbilly- No offense taken. I love my motorcycles and scoots equally. I try and keep my car parked all summer and use the scooters for shopping etc as they have tons of storage. The bikes are for the smiles.

There was a dude on here awhile back that had a trailer on his VFR. I bet you could do the same and have both the bike and the scooter or just use the trailer for grocery shopping or carting any roadkill home that is still edible or even 4-5 100lb sacks of Idahos finest for a Jo-jo orgy.

I can say with all confidence that there is nothing like that I have ever come across. hash browns are about the end of it, but I have been tucked away in the boonies for the last 22 years

I think it was Randy who said that oatmeal was the national food of Canada.

For those tucked away in the boonies, this technique is adaptable beginning with rubbing two sticks together. ;)
