I think PAIR may be slowly overtaking RR as the most frequent topic.

This was taken as a baseline before some other mods. Kind of pathetic numbers but all will come together in another thread. The red line is with the PAIR blocked off, the blue line is with the PAIR connected. This is a 1992 VFR California motor, reported to have had about 12,000 miles, with 1990 49states carbs running stock jetting at 4900ft.

The air/fuel graph shows a dashed line for the ideal mixture at altitude and you can see I'm running a little rich. Any hickups in the torque or HP curve can be matched up with a richening of the fuel mixture on the lower graph.

The graphs lay over almost identically and with only one run with/without, there is statistically no change.

So that cost me $65 bucks and you got it for free. Any cheap f'rs care to chip in?

No worries. There is a lot of misinformation out there, a lot of opinions, and very little fact. The PAIR system is used on, maybe, all the jap bikes. The only way to really put the deal to rest on the FI bikes is to hook a bike up to a computer and a dyno, then run it both ways and see what is really going on.

Yeah, dug the whole thing back up again as I couldn't find any info on possible catalytic conv. damage do to too much raw fuel getting in there. Thanks again.

Blocking the PAIR valve on my 2011 VFR800 made a noticeable improvement to the way the bike responded on cracking the throttle at low speed, such as in traffic, tight bends and roundabouts etc.

The PAIR valve issue is all about the transition from closed to just open throttle. Personally, i see no relevance to referring to a dyno chart in respect to what effect the PAIR valve has. A dyno chart does not give any data as to how a bike drives or feels to the rider, especially at low throttle settings and low speed.
