Parting out a 5th gen. 1999

My buddy who was hoarding some spare VFR fairings from when he had his 5th gen asked me to put them for sale. I will get some pictures and details and add them to this thread. I think we have 2 or right sides and 2 left sides. One of them yellow. one red fender, one red tail fairing. All have some damage. but mostly clean and looks good assembled on the bike.

 

I might be interested in the front fender, if it's red and available.

 

Got some pictures of the fairings: no front cowl or left sides.

Hey Ricky,

Got your right side radiator and rear sub-frame a while ago. Rear frame fit well and was in great shape and the right side radiator was in great shape also.

hey, I am looking for some scrap ABS to try my hand at ABS welding a couple of cracks on a yellow 2000. Have anything that you think would work? I do not a ton of stuff, maybe 5 foot in total.

I have plenty of scrap fairing pieces for practicing. But I doubt they will be cost effective to mail them to Austin from CA. If you have a plastic shop neatby like Tap Plastics they will sell for super cheap/ give away scrap abs sheets. I picked up a bunch from the local TAP for makng fairing tabs and patching missing chunks of fairing etc. Around 1 ft X 1ft and smaller pieces are scrap to them and they sell them for under a dollar per square foot for those.

Edit: I can break up a few scrap fairing pieces to fit in usps flat rate box and send to you for cost of shipping if you don't have a better option.

 

Wagzhp have you tried cleaning the switches in that casing with electronics cleaner?
