Im camped out in "The Dalles" Oregon. Makes me want to come back, after you gave me those most awesome directions! Wanted to go look at or steal, one of Capn 80's bikes. They're some of the sweetest v fours in the lower 48!

Well lucky you, you're still with in luck of sorts as you're not to far off the beaten path. Meaning if you wanted too, or possible, you could actually come back to Hood river cross over the Columbia river take hwy14 west to Carson, thats about 25 - 30 miles. Then head up Wind River, curly creek, FS90 to FS25 that comes up behind Mt. St. Helens and ends at hwy 12 at Randle, from there it an easy head west back to i5, thats if its doable and all and fits in what you have in mind. it's all good. which ever works out, just throwing it out there.

I'm going to have to keep going, as I need to be home by monday night. Gonna need to push it,as it is. Don't have a VFR, so its tough to go farther, faster! Next trip to Vancouver Island I'll make a point of meeting you. The invite is really nice, thank you!

Yep, the Dalles isn't to bad with all it's rolling hills wandering around, even 84 ain't that bad. No problem, as I woke to some ominous looking weather, ( had it in mind to go to St. helens if) A quick check showed rain in the cascade foot hills, so a smart move on your part not to head this way. Best of with the rest of your journey, you still have some great riding in front of you.

Near The Dalles there is a copy of stonehenge that SLOVFR and I visited on our NW tour several years back. I also did the route RVFR mentioned which is a lot of fun. Too bad I missed your ride until today I might have jumped in for a few miles. I have been doing a bit of dual sport, though so I was away for a bit.

Definitely no rain in the forecast around here. Will hit afew good roads, as interstates are kinda boring and I've seen a couple of police cars today on the I-84.

No! You never filled me in! I probably would've taken interstates without your input. Well, maybe not, but I'm still grateful for your input!
