I Know that oil is a dangerous topic on any forum.

I have downloaded the Workshop Manual and see that the spec is 10w-30 above SG rating.

For many years now I have run all of my bikes including Aprillia RSV4Tuono, 07 Aprillia Tuono, 08'Aprillia Shiver ,05 Vtr1000f, 01 TRX850,95 FZR1000, 98 Suzuki TL1000s, 92 Duc 900SS, 08 848 Duc, on dare I say it Mineral Diesel oil.

    Never had any problems .

    The question is this,

Does anyone on here use Diesel oil in their VFR1200f and if so what brand and specification ?

Sorry about the question however, it will save me a lot of research.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers from Australia.

Many guys like Shell Rotella T6 --- its 5W-40 -- Seems to be a very popular choice.

I have been running shell T6 in my 93 for a while now and had no issues. In reality as long as you use a quality motorcycle oil and change it regularly you should not have any problems. The T6 is JASO MA/MA2 rated for motorcycles and about $20 a gal. Most of us do not run it alot of miles anyway. Sounds like you have been using it for years yourself and had no problems. Use what you like...
