So I've looked everywhere for this and I can't find a real answer and the guys here at the shop aren't 100%.

In the Honda parts catalog, for the 8th gen OEM quickshifter, it says "Shift Assist Program helps to match engine RPM to rear wheel speed when downshifting"

Does that mean it can auto blip as well or is it only an upshift capable device?

Pressing your foot engages a switch that momentarily kills the engine to take the pressure off the gears. Works great. Once in a while I will forget to lift my foot off completely and engine will start to stall! I am not sure if works for downshifting (lifting foot) but will gladly check.

I'm sure that's a typo error regards downshifting. The installation and operation guide clearly states for up shifting use only, downshifting requires normal clutch use.
