A few of us have experienced delays in the chatbox. It seems that it will not display messages for quite some time then it will randomly show all the messages that were in chat during the delay and go back to working as normal. I got it a few times last night but it wasn't a long delay as well as a few others. I think Randy experienced this tonight. Below is a copy of the chat from tonight:

    #01:16 squirrelman> on a horse
#01:56 34468 Randy> Chat seems slow tonight. Your response just showed up on my computer. Then maybe its my computer

This was on 12/26/2009 at 1:56AM EST. Hopefully that will give you something to look for in a log with the timestamp.

FWIW... This is better than the old chat used to do. At least the new chat doesn't dump the messages and you never see them again. The old chatbox would just eat the messages and went to bit heaven.

In the quick reply box or what? you know that if you click "go advanced" then you can choose different font sizes, but I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about...

I have noticed the lag when I jump from page to page as the chat box types the latest few posts out. There are not many options for chat right now for the new version of VB, but we are keeping an eye out for upgrades. You guys will see it almost as soon as we do. For now, we have 2 options, slow chat or no chat. Hopefuly one of the authors who wrote for the last version of the software will write and updated version soon.

    avatars big

Not sure if others are having this problem, but when viewing threads on new site on my mac, some of the avatars are so big they cover the text of the post. Like the new site good up grades.

not sure if you can do this.....

is it possible to click or maybe double click on an image & have it appear in your garage? .....maybe right click. yeah. right click then in a dropdown box have "make real & move (or copy) to garage" as an option.
    JAT.

otherwise the site is pretty cool.

not in the same way. If you click the forums tab, then below the chat box you will see every forum we have to offer. the idea behind this is that VFRworld has expanded to several major areas that are linked but different. If you think of it like a magazine website, the frontpage is where we put articles and people can read them or not and comment on them, the forums is the area where most of the messages from users about what's going on, etc will be. The blogs is another major section where users can have their own personal blog and they can control whether others can only read it, or comment on it, etc. The classifieds section is another major section. The submenus change as you move to a different major section of the site. It's a bit of a change, but it's incredibly more versatile for the users and for us behind the scenes.

yeah, I noticed that on the links also. It happens to by the style set we chose. We are looking at a couple different options. Hopefully we'll have something worked out soon.

Chat only worked for me the first day and it was intermittent at best. Now it has stopped working all together. I can't eve see what others are chatting about. The chatbox is just a blank white box??? I can type in the box and hit Enter but all I see is a blank white box. Do others see what I have entered into the chatbox?

I haven't been able to find how to get the last 2,3,4 or whatever days of posts. Can this still be done like the old way? There used to be a Choice in the drop down menu.

I see there have been several comments on avatar sizes covering text on mobile devices. I'm seeing the same issue on my PC, namely Joey_Dude and Cundalini's avatars:

    Windows XP SP2
    Firefox 3.5.6
    1280x1024

Also the same issues in IE7.

Additionally, this might not really be a bug but just wanted to point it out:

In the chat box, if you aren't logged in you can still type and submit a message; however it will not be displayed.
I don't know if that's a problem, or if it's just the way the new system works.

The site as a whole looks great so far, though! Nice job!

I'd like to say thanks to Mike and Reg for working on the site during the holidays. Of course with something new their are always bugs in the system. I too am having a problem with oversized avatars in the forums. It blocks the first 3-5 words of a line, on every line on the left hand side of the text. Some avatars like Regs and elwray are fine. Jasonsmith, Cundalini, and mine are the ones that I notice that have that problem. Thanks also for getting the colors back

The avitar pictures are overshadowing a good amount of the text fields on some people's posts. Anything we can do to fix that one?
