    damn.

when i first filled the oil in this junkyard motor, i put in a little splash of seafoam to hopefully clean any crap out. as i found out, it worked a little too well:

after a quick cleanup though, everything was fine.

some in-the-wild photos because why not:

    other notes:
-new fan unfortunately did not solve cooling problems; i'm going to try adding another fan to the right side rad that'll pull from the inside out.
-delinked brake setup feels fantastic, the fronts have lots of feel and modulation with the 3/4" nissin radial master but there's still plenty of power on tap if i need it. the rear with the cbr600 master also feels good.
-unfortunately the same cannot be said of the clutch master. when i ordered, the 9/16" bore (factory size) was not in stock, but 5/8" was, and i got impatient and thought it'd be close enough. i thought wrong, and the clutch now doubles as a grip strength trainer. need to fix that.
-with the 6th gen injectors on factory tune, it's totally rideable, but it's very rich. power commanders are fairly expensive and kind of outdated, so i'm working up a homebrew solution with a microsquirt.
