I figure any Ueno Station is better than none. It will only be 30 min walk from our first hotel.

Ueno was a bust, but the F1 parking lot had some gems. Nothing too crazy, but some nice Cb400f bikes. Funky monkey bike as well. Max just ran away with it but the race was great to see, hear, and smell. I wish I would planned better because Motegi is this coming weekend and we leave on Friday. Maybe in another life.

This trip really adds to the mystique of my VFR and RVF bikes. I am more excited about keeping them more than ever. We stopped by a shop called NAPS. Fucking hell! This is what Cycle Gear should have been. Every tool, o-ring, jets, exhausts, wheels, riding gear and more. I bought a new Aria Taka Nakagami with fitted cheek pads for $460 USD. NEW! Made 3 months ago. I also picked up gloves, 2 x digital gauges and stickers. 2B779C86-5A34-4428-836C-8186A33F9961.jpeg 3A614A82-5C5E-4E4E-9C0E-9B0F1FADA8E6.jpeg 557B6496-BC0B-40FC-A279-AD3889D88533.jpeg EA01D30D-C879-451A-A098-FE531DF61204.jpeg image.jpg

Sorry about Ueno, but I figured all the shops were long gone by now. Motegi isn't exactly easy to get to, but the Honda museum makes it worth the trip. Japanican used to do a tour where you could meet their luxury bus at Tokyo station and get a ride to and from the track, with race tickets, for a good price. I would still like to make it to the Suzuka 24 hour race, but that window seems to be closing a little more each year.

There are a few stops we are going to try and hit, but we expended a lot of time and energy to get this far. Tamiya factory, Ricoland, some kind of honda museum display and Shabuya crossing tomorrow or the next. Suzuka wiped us out. Still recovering physically.
Did chat with an OG about his scooter. ZX-7 or something front and rear sport bike parts on a 150cc Honda scooter. Full onlins parts. Said he was to old to go fast but wanted a cool bike. Rogue out.

Found a sweet mag on the way out of Japan. It is a 400 encyclopedia from 1984 onwards.

Back to business. This was the first weekend in nearly two months to work on bikes. Got my parts from Web!ke. So it took nearly 4 hours to get them back together. Always take good photos before tear down.
They are going through the patented Rogue leak down on the bed of my truck. Looking leak free. Yeah! Next weekend will be valve clearance and coolant system rebuild. image.jpg image.jpg

Let’s go with a before photo. Oh and while we were in Japan, my subframe went to powder coat. Looks good I think.

I've got a white one, if anyone is looking for one. Went with the aluminum stock copy from Tyga

Update. Held fuel for a week, no leaks found on the carbs. Today was cleaning day with my old friend fuel. Bleh shock removed, frame and swing arm scrubbed. Clean and pack new grease into pro-link(?).
I am missing the entire chain slide so I am going to have to come up with a solution if there is nothing online. Kinda out of juice, so I am throwing in the towel today. image.jpg image.jpg

And then I had an epiphany, why not just swap the swing arm with the better looking swing arm spare. And I can clean more of the frame up. image.jpg image.jpg

Yay, water pump spins freely, but needs a solid cleaning. I was concerned because of all the corrosion around the coolant parts. Next is the cross tube and thermostat area. Samco tubes on the way soon. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg
