For those of you who are newer, Scratch was the name given to my 98 VFR after the 2nd or 3rd time she got scratched...mysteriously.

Anyway, I have been mostly riding my f800GS the last couple of years so she was being neglected and the guy that bought her fell in love at first sight. I think he'll be good for her. Here she is the last time I saw her:

    goodbye Scratch.PNG

Most of the ride reports I've posted here are trips taken on Scratch with a couple of the newer ones on the GS.
I bought her in 06 with around 35k miles I think and my first posts here back then were the same questions that I still see people asking today. Hey, what oil should I use again.

    Anyway, thanks for the memories.

I call for a BAN REGGIE for this absolute uncaring attitude towards an ever faithful friend and companion. Basterd! I am sure there are a lot of great memories on that bike Reg. It was even fun for me to give her a whirle while you tried to make mine spin out from V-Tech surge complaints here, when we first met.

    Farewell ol' girl!

She was a good bike and I nearly made my goal of 100,000 miles. She was just over 96k when I handed him the keys. I do have a lot of good memories from the bike, but more from the community I found here because of the bike.

When I sold my 1975 RD 350 I was sad but also happy that it would be used a lot more.

It's weird how much I miss that bike. I have never been as attached to a bike. It's not even like I needed to sell it.

Scratch also proved a useful parts bike on more than one occasion!

Sad to see her go, and it sounds like you are already having second thoughts about letting her go. It may not be too long before you spot a swish 2014+ on CL to add to the stable.

The kid that bought it was pretty happy with it. I texted him and he said he accidentally lifted the front wheel on his ride home. I think it has a little more power than he was expecting. He was coming off a heavier triumph ST bike.
