In a couple of days the job will be done. The bike is completed and the only thing is waiting on the sidecar, so i can mount it on to the completed frame.

I will put some pictures here when completed.

    progression so far

the paint job of the sidecar takes a little while longer. Hopefully is't done next week friday or saturday. This week i made the first 50Km with the rig. I was driving very well. Now the load is a couple bags of sand. This evening I am going to measure the weight on the rear wheel. The original VFR shock is nog strong enoug for the job. At Wilbers shocks in Germany they will bild one specially for the VFR rig. I still have to wait 3 weeks untill it's ready.

The Venom exhaust is to loud and i bought a new one that will come in 2 weeks.

    The pictures will follow afterwards.

    Almost done...

Here's an update. This morning we checked if the sidecar fits on it's frame.
    It went very well:

After taken this picture the underside of the sidecar got a titanium paintjob.

The result wil be shown next week.

    Greetings, JFJ.

Very nice looks as if you have a good eye for detail. I see you braced up the front forks as well.

First. I am impressed that two people on this thread have medical issues that would cause many to give up riding. But they have refused. They kick ass in my books.

Now a question about tires. We all know that someone who rides the slab a lot gets a flat spot on the tires and premature wear as a result. Lots of shoulder tread but center worn.

If one was to put a different tire on like posted in post #17, then the bike could only be used with the sidecar or the tires would have to be changed.

Jan's picture in post # 27 shows the usual motorcycle tire. Does that bike lean into the corners still or does it ride basically flat. If flat, I would think that there would be an incredible amount of wear on that front tire.

They do look neat though. And maybe the wife would ride with me then.

    Very nice indeed!

I would like to see a trike version of the VFR - my GF has a 81 CB900 custom but says she can't see herself on a sport tourer - then she saw a goldwing trike and liked it - maybe if there was a trike VFR I could get her to switch!

As far as the VFR being a 'sporty ride', I've always figured it was a 'sport-like bike' Kinda like a Katana.

DID NO ONE ELSE CATCH THE COMPARISON TO THE KAN-O-TUNA???

i rode with a guy on a katana today and I must agree, the VFR is a much sportier ride. I had a katana about a year ago that I bought and parted out, very old technology all around.

Tnx everybody. It's nice to see the reactions.

Yes, it's a home made system to set the frontwheel further. The combination is easyer to steer. It's about 6cm. Then I made a new system to mount the brake's. It is working very well, but did nog make many km's yet. First I have to change the monoschock in the bike because the original one is to soft. This week the new one is coming from Technoflex.nl

Also i have to finish some small things before I go on holiday 24th of july.

Afterwards I will give some comments on how it was.
