Speedo Not Working 04 VFR800

    Sorry if this one has already been posted, I just got a 2004 VFR800 and the speedo is not working at all, everything else on meter cluster is working ! Seeing if anyone else has had this issue before.

    your speed sensor ring on your front wheel in tact and all electronics leading to it?

    I will check on that info, I just got the bike few hours and just got with it.

    There's no speedo sensor on the front.

    The speedo sensor is located on the sprocket cover, held in place by a couple of 8mm bolts from memory. There is a white plastic socket that slips onto the sensor shaft, and the other end goes over the sprocket nut, and this has probably fatigued with age/use. They are very cheap and easy to replace.

    Thanks, that worked. I installed new sensor since the one in there was rounded on that plastic gear/coupler they use. I appreciate that, Ride safe!

    Happy to have helped. It was the first thing I repaired on my own VFR800 two years ago.
