Subframe mesurements

Hello
I just bought a Renntec rack for my VFR 750 1997
I cant fit it on my bike... I am so confused.
There are 3 optins here
- my subframe is damaged
- the jig used to make the rack is not correct
- I'm being a muppet

Dose anyone have a moment to measure the space the round pipes on subframe please?
See pictures, my measurement is just shy of 167mm

 

I would bet real money that it is just poor manufacturing / work holding. Probably combined with a not-so-great jig.

Are the flat sections with holes then supposed to be bolted using the cowl mounts? If so, do they line up? Or does the rack need to be squeezed to make both possible?

I can take my seat off later, but mine is going to measure exactly like yours. The subframe is Honda. The rack is not.

the issue is that the manufacture is swearing by their jig... and my bike looks like had a damage at some point, the right hand side sub frame has clearly been smashed....

Measurement would be most helpful!
