bought 11ft of the blue stainless brake line today. Came from the same batch as the rear lines already made. Appears that each time he orders colored lines, it varies wildly. Now the color will match when I have the guy build the remaining lines during the next cold and snow season.

I didnt realize how long it had been since i had been on here until seeing this ridiculoius thread. I am so glad that I will probably get to see it in person way before most of these knuckleheads! Are you going out to SLO or R3?

That is some seriously nice work... if you made it into a kit form, I bet you'd sell more than a few!

    Thanks for the kind words.

Don't remember if I had mentioned in the thread but I originally set out to make extra mounts and have it be a bolt on kit with minimal welding. Unfortunately things didn't work out that way. But when you factor in the brake lines and the wiring harness, it would be incredibly tough to package a kit with a price worth a guys time and still have a price a consumer would pay.

Be glad to provide any information a person wanted that isn't already contained in this thread if someone wanted to take on the mod themselves. It's far more popular on the 5th gen for people to create their own custom undertail exhaust to fit inside a custom inner-fender. I think the brake master cylinder mod would be a fairly simple compliment to that and be something I could manufacture affordably.

To be quite honest, I did not see the reasoning for doing what you did, at the beginning of this project. But Tink, you won me over. A work of art. Can't wait to see it this weekend.

Did you notice that your Department of Highwasy posted an arrow sign in the same colour right behind your bike in your honour. Impressive!

correct sockets are now available for the ECU connection. A harness can now be built without the extensive soldering that I had to go through. I expect to be ordering some soon. Added to the list of next winter's "to-do list" will be building a proper harness without the solder connections.

I abandoned a few things on this project in favor of riding it as much as possible. But with a local VFR enthusiast ride coming up this weekend, I found the motivation to tie up a few loose ends that were hanging around.

The front inner fenders were not installed and the ECU has been hanging by zip-ties. Hardly a reliable solution but it's got me by for 4000 miles so far this year. I couldn't be happier with how the project has worked out.

Here are photos of the ECU mount. I could have fabricated some fancy brackets but with the unit completely out of sight, I found the simplicity of plumbers tape to be the easiest solution. No one will know except for you guys.

We'll see how much it flexes around once it's on the road. I may want to add a lower support as well.

Tonight I will install the left side inner fender. There will probably have to be some trimming to clear the front mounted RR location. Even if the fender clears it, I will probably add a small cutout for airflow over the RR anyway.

hey thanks! Glad you liked it.

So the left side inner fender is now installed. I did not end up needing to trim the inner fender to clear the RR. And since the RR is always "cool" to the touch, I opted not to trim the plastic for airflow.

Not a whole lot to see.

Thanks for posting this. I just pissed away an hour of billable time going through your posts. Very fun! I love stories of bikes that have been saved to become better than they were before.

    Thanks, glad you liked it.

The bike was dropped off on Thursday for a custom shaped and tailored seat. I'm scheduled for a test fit to my ass Wednesday morning and will probably have it back the following week.

Pics and more detail to follow....

Had test fit on the custom shaping this morning. Wife was pretty pleased with the pilon area. We had to do some more sanding in areas to make it perfect for me. Will be completed on Friday or Saturday.

There will be two more layers of foam that go on top of what you see here:
