    Thanks Captain!

I saw that website for rebuilt pumps which they no longer have in stock... However, the fella from the other forum site that offered to rebuild my pump is the same fella supplying these parts.

I am talking with someone local here in the Mesa area that has an Ebay storefront and has new oil seals available. I sent him a pic of my pump and he asked where the oil seal was? I had no idea, never had one of these pumps out... He told me to look inside and see if it was still on the shaft... It was! Seeing that it wasn't on the pump housing leads me to wonder if I may be able to fix the leak just installing a new oil seal instead of sending the pump off for a couple of weeks. I'm going to try it at least with the realization that I may full well have to go back in and send the pump out regardless...

I wanted to ask you guys what oil you prefer to run? The PO had just changed it but I want to do it again just so I know for sure what is in it...

I get this water pump issue resolved and then it's onto the brakes... Got my rotors and now have the pads.

Still no word on the wraparound fascia yet...

    ;)

I just use regular old Valvoline 10W-40 in my R and my VFR.

    Good luck with the pump.

Out of curiosity has anyone purchased and used the Zedder Honda Cross Reference Guide software? Did you find it helpful or no? Thanks!

    Hi Guys!
I took my tank off the other day and noticed that PO has removed the airbox lid. The K&N filter was old and needed replacement. I ordered another... I wanted your opinions, should I leave the lid off or should I replace it with a spare one? I understand that the PO wanted to get more air but I am concerned about running efficiently... Will leaving the lid off affect the jetting at all?

    Thanks for your input!

    :)

Salvo the lid is there for a reason, obviously to provide access to the filter element. Its also there to help keep unwanted things out. Without it something large may find its way in and restrict airflow (water) even with a filter in place. Not worth the risk at this point IMO. You know the bike will work just fine with the lid in place.

Some people, me included, have taken out the snorkels up front. Some have drilled holes in the lid. Depending on your jetting requirements, more air might be needed, however, losing the lid entirely is probably not wise. Leave it on, it'll breathe just fine with your slip-ons and stock motor. I can't think of a scenario were the lid should be off.

Thanks Guys! I'll drag one of the spare lids out of storage and install it...

On another note, I got a text today telling me that my wraparound fascia will be ready for pick up by the weekend. They included a pic... It looks sweet! I'll get pics up as soon as I can.

I found out today that the fascia is set back until this Friday, while buffing, they burned through the clear coat and need to repair it.
Other than that just been taking care of the small stuff. Installed a new K&N Air Filter. Got the new rotors and pads installed along with new sprockets. I also took the effort to scrub the calipers, swingarm, forks, and all the assorted nooks and crannies squeaky clean. I ended up going with a synthetic/petroleum blend oil from Honda called HP-4. I have a new RK "Gold" chain coming along with some new NGK plugs. I just received my new turn signals this past Friday. I pulled the windscreen off tonight and will start buffing that out tomorrow.

Just keeping ya posted and enjoying the garage time!

    ;)

Got the fascia back, it came out great! So now I'm getting the bike back together... Once my chain tool arrives, rivet the chain and then back on the road for now... In a few months I'll get the other bodywork painted and swap out the panels. For now I want to get out and enjoy it! :)

The windscreen cleaned up nicely with some buffing and compound, still a few small scratches but overall very clear...

Here's the fascia... Cost me $250.00 to have done...

Wow, that bike is stunning from every aspect. The surround looks great, is that a CF weave they laid over and clear coated?

Bike looks amazing, great work! :thumb:

Having lived in AZ for 18 years, I came across quite a few folks that were there "in hiding", so to speak. If Mr. Dodge did not have a price on his head before, he certainly should have one on it now. Good luck and kudos for not giving up on your dream.

    Thanks Guys!

Cap'n, The CF is a "HydraWrap" in a Carbon Fiber pattern. It is available in silver(mine) or gold, there might be another shade that they said but it escapes me... Just do a Google and you'll find videos and so forth... ;)

Got it basically finished up for now... In a few months I'll get the other body panels sprayed and swapped out.. It's riding weather for us here in Az!

When I get a moment I'll add the list of items that were replaced/refurbished...

Here's a few quick shots... I'll get some better ones of the surround now that the bodywork is on...
