Will be working on the clips over the next couple of nights bud, will be interesting to see the difference between my Drift HD and your GoPro, had a quick look at mine earlier and really think the quality should be better !

So a couple of thoughts on the Isle of Man...

What an amazing place - but go there on a motorcycle. The locals 'even' like bikes ! & will quite happily pull to the side of the road to let you pass...
Parking on the island is pretty much anywhere (no parking restrictions) except for OBVIOUS areas, & there really isn't any traffic especially away from the main towns.
Speeding in the towns is FROWNED ON (rightly) & except for again obvious locations the police are exceptionally fair....

    So in summary,

    DO NOT GO THERE !
IT IS TOO BUSY, YOU WOULD ONLY ADD TO THE CROWD,
    YOU WONT UNDERSTAND THE LOCALS,
THE BEER IS WARM, THE WEATHER IS COLD & WET,
    THE ROADS ARE TOO SMALL,
THERE ARE NO TACO BELL'S OR WALMARTS.....
    PUBLIC TRANSPORT SUCKS..

& lastly, Because I will be there... (With Andy & John following me somewhere behind in the distance) - lol

Hmm - well this morning was tied up getting the overheating problem sorted out by a local motorbike mechanic in Tullamore. At 70 euro for the repair it was a very fair price indeed. I stopped by yesterday and mentioned that one radiator was hot and the other cold and whilst he was officially closed (Sunday) he immediately said come back in the morning as the radiator thermostat was jammed shut! Apparently the fan switch is located in the very cold left side radiator hence the fan would not cut in and things were worsened by the ECU fuelling constantly in cold start mode causing the bike to be far from swift. With the problem resolved I took the bike for gentle run out on the motorway and it was a changed beast - and once again plenty fast enough :)

It is a real shame this fault decided to occur during my trip to the island, but such is life, and now it is fixed the quiet roads of Galway, Sligo and the Irish west coast will I am sure provide plenty of new challenges. The packing has begun (again).

    Great photos Pete!.

Today was a winding trip from Tullamore to Galway via the Cliffs of Moher passing some stunning natural limestone pavement formations.

The big surprise is that Ireland has proved to be as hot as Death Valley! So as it was important to increase my fluid intake - medicinal Guinness seemed to work well.

Today was a trip way out west to Clifden (near where Alcock & Brown) landed on the first trans-atlantic flight.

    Clifden.jpg

A few pitstops along the way to let the back markers catch up and one or two extra stops waiting for people who missed the turn to rejoin the group.

The roads especially the "Wild Atlantic Way" were interesting - all single track and very undulating - as parts of the road subside into the underlying peat bogs. We had a short diversion down to lough Corrib on one of their less well maintained roads

    Wild atlantic way.jpg

Once we got to Lough Corrib the weather on one side was interesting with one side in sun and threatening clouds massing on the opposite (where we were headed) but thankfully a passing shower.

Tomorrow it will be a very wet day on the run up to Sligo :rain::rain::rain::rain::rain:

Hey ho you cannot say you have been to Ireland without catching some rain.

With torrential rain forecast we set out from Galway in full wet weather gear - by half way to Sligo the clouds had done their worse and we had a brief stop to pack away the wet gear.

    IMG_2788.jpg

Lunch stop was at a sports centre near to the Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery.

After a short run along the coast by Strandhill we reached Sligo City. After parking up the bikes we duly set about a pub crawl. The run down to Dublin tommorrow will probably be a very quiet affair.

There is a motorbike waiting for you Long - just let me know when you are thinking of heading over and you can stay at Chalet Val. If you can stay for longer, then visits into Southern Switzerland and Northern Italy are very easy to reach on the bikes.
