Keep in mind you must* use F2 calipers and brackets with the F2 forks because they are designed for the same slightly smaller disc as your 88 VFR.

    * I did use 1990 VFR brakes, calipers and discs with F2 forks on the RC26, but I had to turn about 1.5mm from the outer diameter of the discs to clear the caliper bracket. Pad swept area was still in the designated disc area.

Honestly... just get some F2 calipers and brackets and be done. I (literally) painted myself into that corner and got lucky I found (calculated) a solution to get out.

Good news! Forks are inbound and the powder coater dialed me up and said come get your stuff. I know what I will be doing this memorial weekend. :) MotoGP, Indy and F1 if I need a nap. Also got my order of oil cooler gear in so I can toy with that once I talk to Eric.

On a different note, I am trying to help a friend with his CT200 and I was wondering if the headlight only comes on when the bike is actually running? The wires were chewed up. I really don't like the old mini bikes. They frustrate me so.

Now you are probably thinking clown bike with all of these colors but they should go well together. You don't get to count the center stand. I like to use my center stands to test colors ($15 a pop). This orange is for potential rims and the side benefit of bringing to my attention is that the center stand is still on but not bolted completely while I use it to work on the bike.

So we have Candy red valve covers.
    Gloss black engine covers.
    Black chrome main/subframe + bits.

My only regret is the valve cover air "box" in black. Probably should have kept that candy red as well.
Oh well, they are my colors of choice so F off. lol

I have a 5 day vacation, hmmm can I put a bike back together entirely in that time and not go crazy? We shall see!! mwahahahaaaaa

I like it! I'm gonna do my Hawk valve covers red too. You can't see the breather box with everything on anyway.

    Gonna look sick.

a properly applied chisel with the right point and ramp and right-sized hammer will lift the bearing race easily and instantly but you'll need a new oil seal.

Yes, dremel through but don't cut the stem! The use your freshly cut race as a driver for the new race.

faaaaak. Covid tore me up on day one. I felt shady the evening after all my gear came in. Tested for my work and positive. Not death bed, but not great for the last 4-5 days.
I am down to stuffy, tired, and shakey with a bit of dizziness. More water and food will take away the tired, shakey and possibly the dizzy. I was fully entertained this weekend though with all of the racing.
    No progress i am affraid.

Well I managed to double check torque on valves and put on my newly gasketed valve covers. All new cooling orings and test fit my samco. Bastards did fill my lock pin holes. Need to buy a 8mm ream. image.jpg image.jpg

Today was finish engine as much as possible. Still need exhaust bolts put in.
image.jpg Had to buy a 5/16”drill bit to clear out over coated holes.
spent time working on main frame. Tapping holes and trying to remove old races. Had to buy longer punch. Oi!!
    punching tomorrow.
image.jpg Also need to figure out spacer arrangements for the swing arm. I didn’t pay enough attention when I was pulling apart to remember exact layout. image.jpg

Top race installed. Seems good as well. Next… swing arm attachment image.jpg Removed and installed my first race. Seems legit. It is flush to frame all the around. image.jpg time for the top race. If you see an error let me know.

Should there be a gap between frame and swing arm ? Manual/ exploded view show no other washers.
