    Bill, I don't own a Harley.

And I've often thought about getting a blackbird. I remember reading an article about them in cycle world back in I think '96. The fastest production bike made at the time.

Whoops! My bad. All you bad mofos start sounding all the same after awhile not leaving much to go on in the way of any sort of distinguishment.

So you read this article in 1996 and haven't made up your mind yet? Like the man sez. " Don't let nothing but fear hold ya back."

My sense is that the first thing to do is get Chicky lined up for the shoot. These sort of things have a flow to them. First the artistic then the technical IMO.

...took a crow to the top of my helmet once, on a wide country road, at triple digits, on a 1987 VFR700. Clear roads still contain superb hazards. The darned birds jumped out of a tuft of grass in the field next to the road. Those things feel like a fast pitch baseball to the helmet and make you see stars. The track is the only quasi-safe place where you can actually account for most hazards and manage the risks.

    ---
Explaining it to the new generation:
A good motorcycle is like having a string that is tied from your throttle wrist to the hypothalamus in your brain. You give that throttle a tug and the string goes >bing!< and you get this pleasurable shot of adrenalin straight into your head and out pops your smile. Motorbikes are like a force-feedback videogame in 3D that totally immerses you in the sensation of speed in all it's beauty, especially when you add a corner or two into the mix. Youtube videos of other people driving them are but pale imitations of the real thing. Once you've mastered the bike, and you no longer think about the shift, the brake, or the apex, and the gears find themselves, and the machine sings it's chorus in your ears, and you see ribbons of asphalt peeling away, it's like a dance of love between you and the machine.

Yep, once ya think you've mastered any bike some bird decides your skidlid is something to eat at some over the double nickel and that asphalt is peeling away the skin on your ass.

Who said that anyway? Some harleydood?

If you were ever to be smacked in the head by a turtle at even below that double nickel, you'd change your tune..;)

We can hope that neptech was heading in the right direction on the freeway when this frenzy of exhibitionism struck.

Just think if you had a Harley, you could probably hit at least 70 or maybe even 75 downhill.

Yep, you and 10,000 Chihuahuas. Ay Chihuahua!

Providing you last long enough, this should be your next step to achieve mach 1. I think probably the folks from both timing associations are just holding their breath in anticipation of your grand entrance.
