I fear any bombardment would interfere with me getting the jacket. And yes Pliskin, basically that is what the end result is. Sad but true. I really did not expect anything more. And I had stated previous, I did like the fit, comfort and warmth of the jacket. I was just pissed that they advertise it as waterproof and it was not. But Tourmaster is no better or worse than any other manufacturer out there that I am aware of.

And BB. I anticipated something like that. If they lost the jacket, which it appears they may have, or likely have, then they lost the RMA document as well so they could not know what I sent now could they. Well ole Randy just happened to have scanned that document before he sent it off. So just moments ago, I sent it to them with a note that I hoped to see and end to this matter very soon.

This is probably the saddest example of Customer Service I have encountered. But it is not over until the fat lady sings.

Someday if you're lucky you may get to deal with the Italian end of AVG. Thier idea if customer service is "fuck you". Not to be confused with the American end of AVG who are standup guys.

The question still remains, why didn't you take the jacket back to the dealer? Dealers have protocols and mechanisms in place for this very thing.

I had a bad go around with AVG too. The US branch. I won out with that one too. I am assuming you are speaking of AVG Internet Security people? They went ahead and billed me for a new subscription without my approval, then "after" I raised concerns, they installed it on my Notebook. They reimbursed me and I went to Trend Micro who I have had before. Keeping notes and copies of everthing cannot be understated.

As far as you question goes about returning it to the dealer, I thought I had answered that a while back. I made contact with Tourmaster and followed their instructions. One would think that being the manufacturer their protocol would be the ultimate. So, I did not take it back to the dealer because the manufacturer told me to send it directly back to them. I can just imagine the headache I would be in for if we had a third party involved here.

Should I cop to dyslexia or just say I fucked up. AVG is indeed a provider of internet security. Great ratings for both the freebies and the for pay service. They are HQ'd in Germany. I have both forms of the service and never had a problem. AGV is for the most part Italian The US branch at the time took care of my problem with expediency and aplomb and told me the Italian dude I was trying to deal with was a real asshole. You can tell the Italians from the Germans if you check out thier babes. The Italian chicas have moustaches.

I guess I missed your "I vass chust foloving orderz" bit. Five Twoloonies sez, if you took it back to the dealer the first time you figured out it didn't fit, wasn't warm and leaked, you'd saved a bunch of hassle and the Emperor would have new clothes..

I defy anyone to say that all Canadians are cheeseheads. Some are, but others are hardheads..

    I said:

I just don't know what to say. "Embarrassed" is not quite how I would refer
to the handling of this. An error, or two, even a few is forgivable but
this is plain shameful. I find it amazing that a corporation the size of
yours does not have some sort of checks and balances in place to identify
these errors before they get to this point. But it is your company to run.

I can only assume that you have not located the jacket. And therefore the
RMA document which was included therein. If that is the case, I question how
you would know what I sent. So to do my best to make sure we find and end
to this matter, I have attached a copy of that form so that the item you
send is the correct product, size and colour.

I look forward to seeing and end to this, very soon.

    They said:

    Mr. Simpson,
You're absolutely right. Your package will leave today. Your UPS tracking
    number is:
    H**********

You should be able to track this tomorrow morning once it has been scanned,
    or picked up by UPS.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We hope you enjoy your
    new gear!

    Kind regards,

    Robert
    Tour Master

I wonder what would have arrived had I not sent a copy of this document to them?

They say that one way to rate a company is not only any problems you might have with their product, but the way that company takes care of a problem.

Sounds like Tourmaster struck out on both counts.
They won't be getting any of my business.

The really sad part of all this is after all the time and effort you have expended you will end up with an identical jacket that will probably still not be waterproof.
Doesn't quite seem fair, does it?

Did you know that Tourmaster and UPS are under the same corporate umbrella?

He's not. He sold out to a dude named Xong Ah Zhe who started out as an umbrella salesman in San Diego.

It rains in San Diego about the same as Tiajuana, BC. Not much use for one of those leaky jackets in either place.

Just for insurance, you might want to check the weather forecast.

Will you be required to pay the GST or VAT on the replacement jacket?
