Where do you live? Or where is Dan at. As far as time got plenty as far as money can't be that expensive to mock up.

Only a handful my not be realistic, though you never know.

Not at this moment.. When I source a CF undertail pipe (CBR-style) for super cheap I will get the wheels turning again.

Will keep my eye out on CL and ebay...

The hi mount will keep me happy for the time being.

I was hot to trot on an undertail exhaust for my 5G, but now I'm looking towards a shorty underbike set up (like Buell and some others). Aesthetically, I'd like a set up where very little of the exhaust shows at all. Anyone know if someone has done something like this?
    (...sorry for the partial highjack...)

Yes, I have seen a few pictures of a similar setup.
I'll try to find them again.

    That's pretty slick, SA1713.

I've always wanted to remove the rear passenger pegs from my bike. I don't do any 2 up. The right side is simple - just unbolt it. But on the left side there is the helmet lock and seat release mechanism to deal with. Can I pick your brain on how you handled that?

Sorry Matasickle for hi-jacking your thread!

Sweet. That showed up quick. You're gonna love the difference between stock and that Hindle.

I snagged a spare L side pass hanger and cut the support off, making it flush with the lower part of the fairing. I don't use the seat release but I do like the support you get from the hanger while lifting the bike onto the center stand.

Sounds easy enough. But I'm assuming you still have to be able to unlatch your seat somehow? Is that part still in tact after you made the cut?

    I don't care about a helmet lock.

Do you think you could post up a picture of that? I'd be curious to see.

Here's a pic of my config. Previous owner did it. For the most part I like it except for one thing: adding a passenger (even a fairly light one) brings the pipe so close to the tire that I have to adjust the shock to the stiffest setting and still go slowly over bigger bumps.

Haha! Thanks for the compliments and the...drool

My bike is a '00 but I believe the rear wheel is off a Gen 3 VFR. Can anyone confirm this? Is there somewhere on the wheel that states this?

If it is a Gen 3 wheel, do I have to look for another tire size other than 180/55/17? I think I read that a Gen 3 wheel takes a 170/60/17???

The helmet lock/seat latch is in the same spot and my mod did not affect that area. Works just like before I made the mod.

I'm going to call the Hindle supplier tomorrow. Solves the only problem I had with the bike, getting that exhaust higher and lighter.
