Yeah... my son's dedication has been turned into an all out full day family extravaganza by my lovely and well meaning wife (who is reading this over my shoulder...)

I would have loved to hit the Duff, or anything else, for that matter. Looks like todays not the day for me, though.

Have fun guys, and ride safe.

    That's OK Scott. We understand...really...

Anyways Thanks Jeff. It was a great ride today. Jack was there just before us (Jack Frost). Jeff an I found a little patch of frost that made our rectums pucker a bit but we came out unscathed. For a good portion of the ride, the temp was hovering at 1 degree Celsius. There was lots of salt spread on the roads but you have to understand, a substantial portion of that highway remains in the shadows of the north side of steep mountains so gets no sunshine. Jeff even behaved himself....sort of. He only left me behind a couple times.

This is me....waiting for Jeff...it is 07:55...he's late...I had to talk to strangers there.

Summit of somewhere on this trip. It was cool here. And not neccessarily in the fashionable way either.

Looks like you boys had a good ride. I was thinking about you, as I ended up in Squamish. I saw the fresh snow on the mountains to the north and thought to myself...I should have been on that ride!

...but the toy run and especially the after ride and pub lunch was fun too (Howe Sound Brewing Co. India Pale Ale, to take the edge off the thirst)

You were right Jeff...I think I did see a couple of Harleys!

Here's a little sample video that I posted on BCSB.

Nice Vid Bryan. Next year maybe I will make the run. It needs to be advertised better though. Did not know about it until you said you were going. And not many fart noise making machines either.

Hey Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Island dudes. I got me a Zumo 660 GPS (more on that later). I'm looking to get a Bluetooth headset now and am wondering if anyone else will ever be interested in spending the money to talk bike to bike. If not I'll just get the basic non bike to bike version. If so maybe we should coordinate brands.

Lets talk some more before you buy. I have felt pens that will make all your teeth blue. I have to come into town on days off next week sometime so I will call.. Do you have to plug these things into something?

Leave the felt pens at home

They just hook onto the side of your helmet and you place the speakers and mic where they should be. The battery's last about 8 hours of use and charge via a wall plug.

The headset will connect to your phone or your GPS or both wirelessly over a bluetooth connection. As long as your phone has bluetooth or your GPS no wires needed. You can connect wires from an iPod if you wish too. My GPS connects to my phone wirelessly and controls the phone. Then I connect the headset to the GPS via bluetooth as well and it's all one nice package.

The biggest issue I'm having right now is getting one that is proven and compatible with the Zumo 660. I'm busy talking with Garmin and checking on forums to see which one people are having success with.

They're about $200 or so for a AD2P (Stereo Bluetooth) version. The Zumo 660 has stereo bluetooth out, I think it's the only GPS so far that can do AD2P. So you can listen to stereo music at the same time as navigating.

Randy we'll talk hear sooner than later and I'll show you the GPS. Maybe you should just come by to the house one day or I'll pop over to you and test the thing at the same time.

    Coupl questions

First, you know me. Basic is not in my vocabulary. If it is not expensive, I simply cannot buy it. I have an image to uphold

But seriously, I wonder what the range of the Rider to passenger is. Second, what happens when more than otwo people have this system. Would it be like typical FM radio where if two people speak at once, you get garble?

I am very much interested. Sent you a PM

Ya, I'm the same. Gotta get 73.2% more than what I need so I feel comfortable with it. Rider to Passenger is probably no more than 10-20 meters. Bike to Bike is about half a km.

Were past 1976 now Randy, although I know exactly what your talking about :tclaw: These systems are full duplex, they work just like a phone conversation.
