    Hey there,

This is a boring question (I apologize):
Any links to the Honda FSM for the VF500F?
I've seen a few links around but all expired.

    Here's the conundrum:
    On a '84 49-state US VF500F, Clymer manual calls for jet #102 in carb 1 & 3 (rears).
I read the exact opposite here:
    https://vfrworld.com/threads/vf500f...ow-jets-emulsion-tubes-and-jet-needles.32795/
I've also seen talk of jet #102 in carb 2 & 4 (fronts) on a YouTube carb tutorial.
Is there a Clymer Service Manual typo? What am I missing here?

Also trying to degunk what I think is the (pressed-in) brass pickup (jet?) related to the choke in the fuel bowl.
Can anyone can suggest a method to clean that guy?

    Thanks!
    B.R.

that's not removable without major damage and ruining the carb. soak it with solvent, and use a .010" steel wire to poke, poke, poke to loosen up the normal blockage. when (if) it's clear you'll be able to insert the wire to a depth of about 30mm. try using an ultrasonic cleaner.

on a 4 cylinder bike it's not so important to have all choke circuits working as 2 good ones will probably get the bike started and warmed up so that no choke is needed.

very little difference between 102 or 105, so just get it running, and you can refine tuning later.

Thanks for the guidance on the choke circuit.
This jet mystery (front/back) is bugging me however.
Hard to accept that I might have to take those suckers off again!

    Cheers,
    Ben

For the benefit of others trying to degunk the choke jets, I was able to clean them by poking with a #78 drill bit (0.016") and using carb cleaner.
    It's not a bit jet - a #77 drill bit (0.018") will not fit!
