Sadly your findings confirm my initial concerns. These bikes are only designed to handle stresses in specific directions, and ramming from the side is not one of them.

With labour costs that shopping list of parts already puts your bike close to the Write-off level.

Personally given your findings I would be very unhappy to ever accept the bike back even if it has been "repaired". So make sure you list all and any other scrapes or stressed components on your insurance report then once the insurance cheque arrives forget about the old bike and start looking for a replacement.

Hey ho - Better luck next time.

Before using a shop (and trusting my life to their efforts) I always ask other bikers for feedback. A few minutes talking to folks at the local biker hang-out can save you a whole heap of grief.

Good luck - BB is right - if you go messing with the bike - you may find the insurance void any claim. Find a "trusted" shop and get them to ride the bike and prepare a full report - ideally whilst you are there to point out all and any issues you have spotted thus far.

Thanks its on the other drivers policy mine offered to take front but suggested that if theirs took responsibility I should go that route unless they failed to fix the bike.

It's pretty unanimous from my polling: They all suck and I have heard more than one horror story. ie:mad: best ones I have heard locally GSXR has electrical fire after charging system service, cush drive self destructs after new tire purchase is installed "spacer was lost that fit between cush bearing and wheel bearing. Ever notice how many minivans have a bashed in rear end? All minivans have mirrors and all drivers have the option of turning around and looking where they are backing the vehicle. Get it?

Those drivers cannot be bothered with looking where they are going! They have a Smart Phone!

Have you noticed the phenomenon of crossed up black marks on rural interstate highways. Have you ever seen the knucklehead in the median, on a straight stretch of road, on a dry sunny day? They stare at the supposidly smart phone, until they run off the right side of the road, then give the steering wheel a big ol jerk to the left. The car then spins out ala nascrap. Dim bulb ends up raising the insurance premiums for all of us.

The VFR12 routes the majority of the hot air from the motor and radiator UNDER the machine and thus, the swing arm/final drive gets HOT. Completely normal.

This particular minivan has a backup camera which I noticed when I was looking at the bashed up bumper.

Minivans, Buicks, Prius, Crown Vics, Mercurys of any kind, and old ladies in Mercedes are to be avoided. This is NOT a hate crime. BTW, why is it a crime for me or you to hate somebody?

    Progressive showed today:

Spent about an hour in the driveway:
    Valued bike at $8900
Agreed with my damages but also found the wheel to be bent so that was added to the quote.
Check for repairs should be in my hands in 3 to 5 days.

Waved deductible due to the fact that the other party has taken full responsibility.
