I'm beginning to think I won't be riding a lot for a few days. While I am disappointed, I guess anyone dumb enough to buy a motorcycle in February in Iowa should expect it. This thread may be boring to you, but it did help me immensely. Hopefully some of you can get out there and ride. :thumb:
I know what you mean: Ok, not REALLY what it looks like, but it is a good representation of what it seems like
I think several of us can feel the pain. Last week was the first week since Christmas that we didn't have any snow (but had another 6" this Monday). We even hit 60F last Friday, but there was so much snow melting and salt/rocks on the road, that I didn't even want to take bike out. This is the first winter in a few years that I have not even been able to take the bike for a short run. I'd usually be able to log at least 20 miles or so per week. We're supposed to get heavy rain tonight - up to 2 inches. I'm hoping that will melt away a fair amount of snow and wash the salt and debris off the road. Of course, that means huge new potholes...
No snow here but it's a little cool for us. It was nearly down to 50 when I rode yesterday and partly cloudy. My wife says possible snow this wknd but I'll believe it when I see it.
They are saying there is a chance of snow tomorrow in San Francisco, if it does happen, it will be the first time since 1976!
This was last Sunday after it had rained for a day or two. There is snow on the distant mountains. This is Huntington Beach Harbor. I went out on my VFR for a quick ride.
I live a little ways away from you (in the QC) and am in the same boat. Better not get it out too early, we all know how bad potholes are on rims, as well as the residual salt on the roads and how well they do bikes. Yesterday right at 5 (quitting time) there was a hail\rain that got pretty intense for a short amount of time. I waited for a few minutes before walking to my car. On the way home, through it still raining\hailing I did see some retard on his Ninja..... all I could do was laugh. At least he was using a lid & jacket, but at 34F it still had to be miserable.
:humble:Y'all are starting to make me feel bad about it being "cold" (33 deg) and still completely sunny. At least I'm able to ride almost the entire year.
PM me your address. One sharp stick coming via US Postal service. Open package, and fall on it in the noble way of the Samurai.
Don't worry. you'll get a short reprieve from the snow here shortly. Then you'll be into spring flood season and half the roads will be under water.
