I had a cap fail on my old 05 and it dumped coolant all over the rear tire. Low sided it.
I'm glad you stayed upright. Nice cheap fixes are always the best kind.

I did this to the front fairing of my 5 Gen. Put one of my cameras behind a plexiglass on the front fairing.

This version was just a quick setup, I plan on refining it with straighter lines and have the plexiglass match the cutout better. Got the idea from the MotoGP bikes, although their cutout is square for the lens to see through, I wanted to follow the lines of the windscreen more. My main goal is to have a good camera view and a more protected camera lens. For this run, looks are secondary.

Shit that sucks! I definitely like the fact that I came to a stop and noticed the issue. Killed it and then it took a couple of secs to release!

This is mostly for track days but may or may not turn it on for random Canyon runs...since this doesn't show any speedometer readings, no worries.

I installed the last item I was waiting for to get my 6 Gen back to how she was before getting knocked over. The MRA screen was here this morning waiting to be installed.

The old screen with battle scars.

And the new one installed. What a relief, I couldn't stand looking at the old one all scratched up and held together with a zip tie!

Rode it to an event called the Vashon Island TT, other wise a fancy name for a poker run and a reason to get a lot of bikes to be in one spot or island in this case.. What a hoot.

And it takes a ferry boat ride to get to the place.

Yesterday I joined a couple of friends in supporting a charity ride & 9/11 remembrance ride. It started at Naval Air Station Point Mugu and continued to a park in Malibu. There was a benediction and remembrance certain on the base, and since I was stationed nearby at Port Hueneme, it brought back many memories.

Donations were accepted to benefit a serviceman/father of four kids who got hit by an IED and lost his arm and leg. The money raised is going to be used to buy him a family car. There were a couple of soldiers that were also injured that talked. One guy took an AK-47 round to the head and lost a leg and was paralyzed on one side. He was told he never walk nor talk again, yet he was up there doing both! There was also a lady who lost a leg that is scaling all seven major peaks, including leaving to climb Everest! They are all double tough!!
There were at least 600 bikes that participated and we rode down Pacific Coast Highway. No stoplights, people watching flags, videoing, etc. As we left the base, there were Boy Scouts, civilians etc lining the on ramp to PCH with American flags, as well as the entrance to the park.

It was really emotional, as I haven't thought about 9/11 much recently. Pepperdine campus had a really big field that has a flag for everyone one of the people who perished that day, so over 3000 of them. A really great day and I'll get to do it again next year, only this time, my whole family will join me.
I'll post pics after I load them on my PC. My phone is acting weird.

It my knee slider. I have been working on my body position and finally and consistently getting my knee down. Second gear nearly wide open throttle with my knee down is a total rush!

Ah to be young again! Lucky to get my leg over the bike, let alone get my knee on the ground!
