Let's see....well I started by yanking the carbs and changing the jets. Then I ground the tabs off the mixture screws so I could make adjustments beyond the 270 degree allowable. Installed the clean K&N filter and snorkel back in the air box because I don't like the intake noise. Then I removed the fairings and serviced the steering head bearings (they were dry but otherwise ok). Then I pulled a few blown instrument bulbs and decided to just install a full set of new ones. Finally, I polished and waxed the tank before calling it a night. Not a bad evenings work. Did I mention that I did a complete Audi RS4 suspension swap earlier in the day? Busy day it was and hot / humid as well.

    PM sent with details,

For the curious, Audi's are crazy exotic beasts that are best enjoyed when new and under warranty. Second and third owners generally file for bankruptcy or you read about them tossing themselves off 20 story balconies or found dead in the front seat of a car with no gas inside a closed garage.

DSC02557.JPG Ah man, have a thing around here where between like the 27 of Aug - Sept. say 7thish I don't ride, as the last two Opps happen within a 10 year period just two days apart so to keep peace, I honor the family request in no riding. But alas, not all is lost, On Sept 2nd went and found a friend to keep the VFR company, a 2000 CBR 929

10.jpg Well, it just so happened that it felt Ok to take the Viffer out for a bit, needed to run some errands. besides I've been wanting too anyway since the weather up here is damn near perfect. Now this one place I stopped just also happen to be next to a nail salon, out came two girls, no biggie, cute, but thought nothing of them Went and did my thing in the store next door, only to come back and them girls where kinda hanging around the bike, then as I got closer one came over and asked if she could get a photo with my bike, I mean, she was cute in that girl next door way and all right, figure whats the harm, so said ok. Made sure it was on its side stand securely enough , then the next thing I knew she pulls her sun dress off jumps on the bike while her friend takes a few photos, I of coarse I went what , ok, quick snap myself. took all of like 2 minutes tops. I mean it was a public parking lot, so gee wiz that was something. Guess the Viffer really does attract the opposite sex as well.

I jump started mine. Left it in the garage while unloading groceries out of the side bags and forgot to take the key out after letting the fan run a bit. 6 hrs later had to pull out the cables and pull the car up to get her back to life!;-) Ooops! Don't they say to let the battery run down all the way before re-charging?:mech:

This is exactly right. Friends don't let friends own German cars that are not covered under Service Agreements.

Agreed to this and the original poster about Audi.
    Two friends have S7's.
One can pay for the required services, no sweat.
One bought in used, has no problem doing pretty complicated work on the car. I have seen his in the "service position" (whole freaking front end taken apart) twice. No thanks on the latter, can't do the former.

Did I just see that someone generalized Audi's as "crazy exotic cars"? Ok 1 model. The rest "soccer mom or old man"cars. :)

I've had Audi's in 'service position' several times. It is indeed the entire front of the car taken off, set aside, and the radiator support pulled forward 6-8 inches. "service position" also refers to the owner of the car, generally bent over forward while the shop performs a wallet flush.

Inserted renovated engine (2 new headgaskets) into frame.................using a technique i never tried b4. Place engine at proper height on block, then lower frame on to engine.
