Can we go back to filters please? What is exactly Honda's filter? There is nothing in the Owner manual.
    I have a 08 VFR2008/A

I checked a few stores. No time to hit a motorcycle store, very far from me. They have Fram. Are you guys using it? But I am confused.
Canadian Tire said I need PH6607
    The AutoParts store found PH6017A
    The BikeBandit said PH6065 A.
    http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/FilterXRef.html says I'd use PH6017A

    I am confused
Any comments on that? Thank you.

    2004 VFR800 here
I've been using the Purolator PL14610, chose it over the PL14612 because the 10 is a bit bigger; more filter element, though you do have to use a bit more oil. No problems of any kind, seems to be a very good filter. Usually get it at Advance Auto, when there's a sale I'll buy one for the next change.

I originally used the chart at the CalSci site to find what would fit, seems to be accurate(at least at the time was written).

I just changed my oil on my 2007 RWB VFR using the Honda filter, which what I always use. The one exception to that was the oil change prior (July, 2013) I used a Fram filter that I had lying around. It was for my 1990 Honda Prelude that I had sold in March, 2012. I didn't want to throw it away so I tried it for fit on the Viffer and it fit perfect. So I ran it.

I didn't notice anything different EXCEPT the oil was dirtier than usual when I changed it. My experience has convinced me that my VFR won't explode if I don't use the right filter but that the Honda filter filters better than Fram. But I already knew that.

wouldn't a bigger filter flow better than a smaller one? I got the puculator 610-3.5 inch one-I don't see why it would'nt flow better and clean better than the very small Honda filter. I am using Castrol rt 05-40w right now -cold weather oil. I am going to run the engine tomorrow and then shut it off when the fan starts. Adding the R+G slider tomorrow!
