I was coming out of the local Dairy Queen with my order and there was a Harley dude and his GF sitting outside. I commented that it was "a great day to ride" and that started a whole conversation. I was wearing my "I Wanna Ride!" Honda shirt and he was in the usual Harley garb with big rings on every finger and tats that covered his arms and hands. He was nice. It's funny but we had mutual acquaintances. Small world.

Damn rightI Every time I think of selling my Norton I go ride it and I can't be parted from it. I hate to say it but if I didn't need a bike to ride long distances I would probably only have the Norton. It's one of those bike that you don't have to ride fast to enjoy riding.

Why do HDs have so much chrome? So when they go back, they can find the parts that fell off a lot easier!

My co-worker has one (young dude). It's a nice looking bike. I think he wants to move to an SS though.

Big_Jim, what color is your Norton? I had a new metallic blue Commando years ago in Toronto.

I read all kinds of news from all kinds of sources and I decided what's cancer and what's not. It's a wonderful thing call a free press. I found the article a bit funny when it started out with this paragraph:

A hog-riding former lawmaker from Wisconsin claims that Harley-Davidson voided his motorcycle's repair warranty because of the patriotic flags he let fly from the back of his chopper.

Chopper? He was riding a chopper? The guy that wrote the article is a total tool.

Well, mine is a bit different. It's not to everyone's taste and I am a bit of a pariah at the Norton Club.

I just like yellow and black.

well I just wonder the Harley is just a very old bike that is still made, why pick on it -sport bike ridings I find are new bike riders, its the rider who determines what the bike does-so I don't think which model really matters.

It's not the bike. It is the insufferable bigotry displayed by a certain group of Harley riders.

I loved the line “When you alter a motorcycle with non-compliant products, that does impact your ability to make a warranty claim," .

So if Harley made pole holders and charge big $$$ then the warranty would have been valid? May be they do and his was not the "official" pole holders? I thought that tractor trans where tougher than that..................

Riding with huge flags trailing your bike is just stupid.

Just thought. I wonder if those same people have flags on their cars and trucks they drive all the time? Or even at home. Why so Patriotic on a Harley vs anything else? Seems more American than apple pie and Chevy................

His chopper was one of the new chopped choppers.

Check oot Harley Davidson American flags on Google Images where desecration meets patriotism in a Harley boutique.

Stumbled across this more articulated article of the guy and Harley. This may raise a real stink for Harley. For a while anyways..........http://www.jsonline.com/business/mo...arranty-over-flags-b99275797z1-260267341.html

"I think every Harley Owners Group road captain, every Patriot Guard Rider, every American Legion rider and any patriotic American Harley-Davidson rider should be enraged at such a suggestion that flying a flag would void a warranty," said Tony Sanfelipo, cofounder of the motorcycle organization ABATE of Wisconsin.

Sounds like Harley may have official flag holders for their bikes or at least it hints that way. Harleys marketing better get their a$$ in gear. There could be a revolution?!
