Harley Rally last Saturday at the local dealer, decided to drop in for a photo opp. Nice people, no-one spit on me, farted on me, shot at me or anything. One of the older guys who works there even came out to take a look at my bike.

I went in to take a look, why not. The clothing and accessories side of the show room is bigger than the bike side. Noticed a few $80 t-shirts, didn't even look at the price of the jackets. Everyone there was dressed the part, I'm sure all the way down to HD brand socks.

Even a Harley Trike. Looks like a SOW mobile. No need for sliders.

^ Yep! We rode a few weeks ago and someone made a comment aboot my 500 cc bike being able to whoop all the hds in the parking lot. Sad but true, they make alot of noise and sound all bad-ass, but once they leave the petrol station/bar its all image. I could almost see it in some cases (owning a hd) maybe if it got you laid or made money oot of it? But then again, you would have to have propensity for tatted up wimmins with beer guts or dealing with some knuckle draggers. Maybe an old iron head Sportster? Nah, definately a carbureted bike though, something free dumped in my lap. Forget it...its too early and not enough cawffeee. Cheers.

The only Sportster I would be interested in would be a Buell (which for the purest is not a real Harley) or a XR1200 which also is not a real Harley because they tried to make it handle well.

Now Buells are really not Harleys and the XRs aren't either according to the local harleydoods. Everyone will have to wait for my report on what the local harleydoods have to say aboot HD Golfcarts. Areomacchi according to the "doods" is something that goes on Chef Boyardee canned pasta after the cans are opened.

That's the ticket, a definitive list of what is and what is not a "real" Harley. I would think a VRod is not in fact a real Harley.

Words of that sort around here will get your mouth washed oot with soap. Or HD bikewash..

Told one dood here that HD for awhile owned MV Agusta and he told me that HD never messed with any Jap bikes. Small problems there grasshopper, The Japanese were making Harleys in the 1920s. Probably not a grasshopper anyway. Harley Beer maybe or HD chaw..

Could have a killer hd spit cup mounted to the handle bars or medium/large ape hangers.

Its been mentione in this thread before their are 3 main kinds of Harley riders, ones that start off or still have "normal" motorcycles learning road craft and good etiquette therefore generally good considerate riders, then there are real Outlaws / 1%ers who are a mixed bag and then lastly the 3rd group without common courtesy on the road who have only driven cages all their life having a mid life crises before becoming Wannabes " because Harleys are Cool man " , I think the below link is a prime example of the last one.

First ride on a Harley goes wrong:

Yes, when I was young I hated that they used Tax dollars to save the Brand when they couldn't sell the leaky crap they made, and that it takes 3 very noisy shifts for the pigs to make it from one side of an intersection to the other.
Now I'm older and understand that the money they got was eventually replaced by Taxes they generated by becoming successful, and the jobs they created in the US by doing so helps as well.
I just don't care for the attitude many(not all) of their riders exude, as far as the bikes I don't care for that style of bike or the sound of long stroke v-twin engines.

I recently heard them called "Hardly Runningson"

Oh and if they are so Die hard "Support American Products Only"... Do they only Own Emerson, RCA electronics? Only buy Gas refined from US sources? at US refineries?

I think it is BS, and when I see them on the road I wave because they are motorcyclists, period. Some wave back, many see the wave look at the bike and then don't wave back... I feel sorry for them and enjoy the ride.
