Hey there. First post and I don't even own a VFR, yet. I am currently riding an '83 GS 850 Suzuki and am going to look at a 2002 VFR tomorrow with high hopes of bringing it home with me. It's already got a few upgrades but I will wait until tomorrow to see if I am the proud owner or not before saying any thing else and jinxing it. The VFR is what I am going to get and I just sold my '87 Toyota 4Runner to finance it. What one I end up with remains to be seen.
where abouts are you? we have quite a few members in the great white north. coo-loo-ku-ku-ku-ku-ku... and so get the bike and some pics.
Hey Zombie! Joined in July 2012 and November 01 is your first post. Were you a slow learner in school too? JK. Go get the bike. You will look back but only to realize the wise choice. Post up a lithograph of your ride soon as you aquire such device. Like Reggie said, where in Canada?
I bought the bike, it looked so nice in the utube video and the pictures that I was preparing myself for a big letdown. It looked nicer in real life, so much so that I bought it on the spot and the the previous owner delivered it to me tonight. Now it has to sit in my garage for a few months till I can ride it. If I put insurance on it now I will have to insure it all winter so I will force myself to wait. I live in the big town of Guelph Ontario and I am hoping to find some other VFR owners locally to meet up with. Here is a link to the utube video the previous owner made for the bike. The bike looks awesome and you got bags too!! Guelph! Hell you are in VFR country, ever heard of the Ontario VFR Club? It's a small group of local enthusiasts who like to ride together on the weekends. I rode up from Chicago to have a beer with them one weekend. Now that I'm back in Ontario, I haven't had a chance to get out with them but here is a link to their site, The Ontario VFR Club. Here is a pic of the motley crew at the Mohawk Inn.
You know what sucks about buying a bike in the fall? Having it sit in my garage with no road insurance. I swear she is mocking me! I had some friends come over on their bikes this weekend and I so much wanted to go for a ride with them. If I insure it now then I have to pay for the whole winter and that is just too much money to justify a couple of rides here and there when the weather cooperates. The money I am going to save will get me some new gear that I need anyway so at least that makes me feel a little better about it. I did ride it up and down the driveway a few times though.....
Ya know that this is a pay me a little now or potentially a lot later scenario. You never know if rates are going up or down but if you lock in now, you get to ride till November 2013 at the current rate so why wait?? otstir: I see a few warm days in the forecast for next weekend hehehehhehehehhehe
I have to do my roof next weekend anyway. .... Don't really want to though. My insurance is $85 a month and if I start now I have to keep paying through the winter, get to save it by waiting.
Or you can put the bike on its centre stand, sit on it and make screaming motorcycle noises with your mouth. Open the faceshield so you don't spit all over the inside.
