Well, I am up to 4 in under 30 days.

First didn't realize how heavy bike was ,when my foot slipped just didn't try hard enough to catch it.

2nd was riding around the edge of my trailer along the side of a concrete driveway with a 6-8" drop off the concrete then off a steep brushy bank. Was going rest slow and when to kick my foot down to shift my balance and Oops! I was too close to the edge and my foot hit nothing but air. Took 3 people and a truck to pull it back up out of the brush and onto the concrete.

3rd and most embarrassing, came to a quick stop at Taco Bell. (This is when I was trying to run fresh fuel, and cleaner through the carbs trying to avoid pulling and cleaning them). Turned my wheel a bit right before I put that last bit of pressure on the brakes and flop right down at a standstill in the parking lot.

And the 4th was dog into and under the front wheel after slowing to around 10mph.

The last really opened my eyes to how easily something can happen, and prompted me to service my forks, go ahead and get a new proper sized rear tire, as well as look into new pads and service my brakes, which seem to work fine ATM.

    How about an almost.

Recently pulled into a rest stop. Headed into the angled parking space. Came back to the bike and climbed aboard and a Harley dude was backing into the space next to me. I looked up, planning to smile and say hi but he wouldn't look over. Whatever.

There was an SUV parked next to me on the left. I backed out a bit and started to go around the back of the SUV. I didn't notice that there was a bike rack on the back that stuck out 4 feet. Almost hit the damn thing. Kept my feet on the pegs but was forced to do a full counter-clockwise circle to recover.

In front of a Harley dude...

Yes, I'd say. And you are amazing, BTW.
To have that happen and you still have your spirit and riding passion...inspiration! <3

In front of a Harley too, you will get two drops for that, not quite as bad as my drop a year ago in front of a group of Harleys-they had to help me -in the middle of a bad road.

Add one for me as of today. Went to the bank and the parking lot is at a slight slope so didn't get the kick stand all the way forward. did no damage as it was a real slow fall but did mark up the decal in 3 small spots.

That almost happened to me Saturday. Got lucky, looked down at the stand before I walked away from the bike..... It was just beginning to shift.

    Son of a bitch...

Not me, the boss' "kid" - 19, knocked my orange 700 over.

Big sharp dent in the tank. Custom paint, no numbers. 3 coats of clear over the decals.

    Not my day....

Not too sure if you should have been accountable for that one but wth. I gave you credit anyways. How the hell did he manage to do that. Is boss man planning to do anything about this?

    DARN IT!

I was hoping to avoid posting in this thread. Guess I should have realized it was unavoidable.

Right out the front of work. Had to stop to let a car past in the opposite direction, I took off, got moving, started my turn then stalled it.
I had a hell of a fight trying to hold it and I reckon I came pretty close to a rescue, but heck, thisa bike, she's a heavy lass!

Still, it wasn't a full drop, kind of an assisted lowering to the ground. Right hand side.

Usual scrapes to the common points. All three cowls, lower, middle and upper. Bar end, lever, mirror, exhaust, top box, brake pedal and the engine cover. All have little hickies from the tarmac.

Guess it's time to try to decode the Honda parts list, scream my box off at the prices and then begrudgingly order some bits and fudge/touch up/ignore the others.

I'll add pics tomorrow when it isn't dark.

Haven't had any with my VFR yet but I had one with my old Ninja 300 while maneuvering it around in my garage - was able to soften the blow somewhat but it still scraped up the muffler a bit. Have had a couple of near misses with cagers and deer on the VFR - I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I drop it.

Watch that side engine cover. You can get a very fine and almost impossible crack in there. But you will see the leaking oil before it becomes serious for the engine. These covers are quite brittle. Don't know what they are made of.
