Looks like a nice clean rig. But even so, that does seem a little pricey for a rig that is just a couple years shy of two decades old. Can't say I have done any price comparisons for used though. Whatever you get, make sure you get a diesel pusher. For the life of me, I don't understand why someone would get a big rig like that with a gas engine in it yet so many do.

Then again, if you are just travelling the flatlands, a gas engine will suffice. I bought my new GMC and fifth wheel back in 2003 when I retired first time. The fifth wheel is a 96 so on in age but I have no regrets getting that Duramax truck new when I did. The difference it makes towing that rig through the mountains is incredible.

This thread got off to a good start with dream rigs as the main topic. Even an argument aboot WWII fighter aircraft is germane. Motor homes as dream vehicles somehow might be associated with dreams caused by eating bad fish.

Not a clue how fast the guy on the Hobie was going that day in Ventura. There are several inland "bays" here that at anything but very low tide are great for wind powered craft. Other PNW areas include the Columbia River Gorge.

"We" lived on Catalina until I was about 8. I was born there. On really clear days with the right wind, Catalina being the closest of the channel islands is very viewable from anywhere around Point Fermin and especially on the Palo Verde Peninsula. San Clemente is too far South and too far out to see from that viewpoint.

One of the best viewpoints on the peninsula was the "needle" at the now defunct "Marineland of the Pacific" which is now a "Donald" property. Now I hear everyone must wear a blindfold there that can only be removed by donating several pesos to the fund to eradicate all nekkid pix of his various wives from the internet.

I was Jonesing for a motor home for quite a while, but I've re-thought that and think the ticket for me will be a diesel truck pulling a toy hauler. That way can take the bike, plus the Seadoo along, and when you get to a place worth staying for a while you have your toys, plus can un-hook the truck when you need four wheels and not have to drive around in your camper.

Most of it doesn't matter. Partly because of the P51's range and other attributes, the Allies were able to decimate Berlin and anywhere else they wanted in Germany. The Germans didn't like that so they really surrendered around 1950 or so. They paid a heavy price for their continued Nazi subversion after 1945. The Japs "got it" and when they surrendered, they surrendered and got on with reconstruction. In 1950, Germany was still decimated. Ask and ye shall receive. Comparing a P51 or any other fighter to another is moot. They all beat the enemy. The Germans were scared shitless of the P38. It served it's purpose. I also want an A-10 warthog....with ammo of course. ; )

When I see rigs like that, tires for my bikes don't seem to be that expensive any more.

I wonder how fast the OZ police let those truckers go, on long hauls.

I bet backing one up is fun...
