Installation of a NWS Hugger

This article was written by Dez Rae and he has graciously allowed me to post it here. The original post was on the VFR List and thereafter Dez modified it for the Texas VFR Garage. Should be a great help to those who are considering the same modification.
As Dez was saying ...

I have had a few Aussies ask me where I purchased this unit. I picked it up from Awesome Imports. I like the NWS hugger as the carbon fibre is a LOT thicker than a few others I have seen getting around. Some huggers are as thin as tissue paper while this one is about 3 millimeters thick.

The mounting instructions are simple. Remove the two (2) screws on top of the chain guide that hold the brake hoses. The instructions don't tell you that the 2 screws to be removed are the OUTSIDE ones. You can now fit the supplied bracket to the top of the chain guard and drop a bit of loctite 243 in the thread and put in the 2 new longer screws. Now place the hugger on and you can put in a few drops of loctite in the holes of the bracket and install the hex screws that hold the hugger to the bracket.

There is also a zip tie supplied to hold the front of the hugger to the swing arm. The zip tie that came with mine was a bit short. Lucky for me I had a spare few after installing the cruise control. The hugger is zip tied to the front of the swing arm. I doubt you will see the zip tie after the wheel is fitted. Just make sure that when you fit the zip tie that you do not feed it thru the spring of the the rear shock. (Can anyone spell the word "expensive"?) All up a grand total of about 20 minutes to fit the hugger (again with beer assist).

Here are some pictures of my bike. So there you go folks, hope this helps a few out.
